By Crown Height’s Women’s Circle
Motherhood is Hashem’s greatest gift to woman. But it comes with strings attached. A whole knotted bunch of them. And managing to stay afloat, and healthy, is not always a simple task.
Join the Crown Heights Women’s Circle for an evening of self-discovery as we explore the knowledge and choices inherent in achieving personal health and balance. Get informed about the best, and varied, options for your births and wellbeing during the childbearing years. This is no one-size-fits-all kind of event.
Noted homebirth midwife Cara Muhlhahn will explore different options for the perfect birth for mother and baby. Though she primarily delivers at home (and has in her repertoire many beautiful Crown Heights babies), Cara believes a woman should give birth where she is most comfortable. To aid this, she will share tips and strategies for that ultimate moment, wherever it may be.
Shayna Eliav is a beloved, local health practitioner who is passionate about all facets of women’s health. She was a massage therapist, doula, and childbirth educator for over a decade before going back to school to become a midwife. She recently graduated and will be starting an internship at the Brooklyn Birth Center in January iy”H. Shayna’s talk will explore the ways that women can achieve wellness, physically and emotionally. (Hint: there’s a lot more to self-care than a weekly mani-pedi.)
Five years ago, Nechamy Rabin shared her powerful story of her battle with postpartum depression and her ultimate victory. Now, one baby later, she will tell us how she has coped and conquered in the last half-decade.
