The Ottawa Jewish community is rallying to support Rabbi Michoel Gershzon, the Rebbe’s shliach to Kanata, who was recently diagnosed with a large brain tumor. Rabbi Gershzon underwent emergency surgery last week, and baruch Hashem, the procedure was successful.
As he continues his recovery, ongoing medical treatments and family expenses have created significant financial needs. In addition to medical costs, the Gershzon family faces daily transportation expenses, as Rabbi Gershzon is currently unable to drive, and the family must arrange costly transportation to bring their children to school both locally and out of town.
A fundraising campaign has been launched to assist the family, with a goal of $50,000. Donations are tax-deductible in Canada and can be made here or via e-transfer or PayPal to [email protected] (include “MG” and your mailing address in the note).
The campaign is endorsed by community leaders:
Rabbi Zalman A. Grossbaum, Chabad Lubavitch of Southern Ontario
Rabbi Dovid Hayes, Chabad-Lubavitch of Ottawa
Rabbi Yehoshua Botnick, Rov of Anash Ottawa
Rabbi Chaim Boyarsky, Rohr Chabad Student Network of Ottawa
Please continue to say Tehillim for Reb Michoel ben Sarah for a complete and speedy recovery.
