Hatomim Boruch Thaler, a Crown Heights resident who koched in the Rebbe’s Torah and put the lyrics for the song “Kesiva Vachasima Tova,” passed away on Thursday, 6 Cheshvan.
He was 56.
From his childhood in the Shchuna of Crown Heights, Boruch Thaler would often share memories of the Rebbe with his friends. With a brilliant memory, he could repeat the Rebbe’s sichos word for word as they were spoken.
In addition to his other skills, he possessed a talent for music. As a bochur in 1988, he and Rabbi Yossi Hodakov composed “kesiva vachasima tova” on their journey home from summer camp. The rebbe frequently encouraged the use of this niggun throughout the years.
He passed away following a severe illness with his Levaya passing by 770 today on its way to kevura.
He is survived by his parents, R’ Tzvi and Rachel Blima Thaler, and siblings Dov Ber (Sunrise, FL), Leah Caroline (New Haven, CT), Chaya Nejar (Baltimore, MD), Shani Bennish, and Devorie Chaddad.
Baruch Dayan Ha’emes.
