Hostages

Hamas is playing games, at a sickening level.

Yesterday, Hamas announced that they found the body of a hostage. They called the Red Cross to witness them dig out the body, and had the Red Cross deliver it to Israel.

The IDF identified the remains as that of fallen hostage Ofir Tzarfati. The IDF had already retrieved his body during an operation in December 2023. Hamas had apparently spread his remains, so that they could hold onto some for later.

But it gets worse.

The IDF released drone footage of what really happened—because Hamas staged the whole “find.” In the footage, taken by IDF soldiers, Hamas is seen taking the remains out of a building, burying them near a tunnel, and moments later, calling the Red Cross to tell them they “found” something.

Today (Tuesday), Hamas announced that they “found” another body, and will return it at 8pm. Then they announced that they won’t return it, “due to violations” by Israel.

Late at night, Hamas announced that they “retrieved” the bodies of two hostages: Amiram Cooper and Sahar Baruch. They did not say if or when they will return the bodies.

The IDF believes that Hamas can easily access the bodies of at least 8 hostages. But they haven’t released any in nearly a week.

Hamas has already gotten two things out of the delayed hostage release: time to reassert control, and heavy trucks and construction equipment brought in by Egypt to help the search.

A Hamas senior official, Suhail al-Hindi, told Al-Jazeera another thing they’re trying to get: access to Rafah, which is under IDF control, and where the terrorist claims Hamas needs to search for more bodies of hostages.

Hamas violated the ceasefire agreement by delaying the release of the hostages (bodies included) far beyond the initial 72 hour deadline (we’re around 384 hours later), and now past US President Trump’s latest demand that they release them within 48 hours.

Gaza

An IDF soldier fell in battle today:

Yonah Efraim (Efi) Feldbaum, 37, from Zayit Ra’anan-Neria, a young father of five.

While the IDF has not yet published details, it appears that Yonah was killed by Hamas anti-tank fire. Hamas had fired several weapons towards IDF positions in Rafah this afternoon, in violation of the ceasefire agreement.

In response to Hamas’s violations, Prime Minister Netanyahu instructed the IDF to launch “powerful strikes” against Hamas in Gaza.

Amit Segal says that Israel may also expand the Yellow Line.

Airstrikes began around 7:30pm. The IDF has not yet detailed the strikes, but sources in Gaza report hits in Gaza City and Khan Younis, with several terrorists eliminated. The airstrikes ended after a couple hours.

On Monday, after a little more than two years since the October 7th massacre, Defense Minister Israel Katz announced that the state of emergency in the Gaza Envelope area of Southern Israel would be removed.

Today, the IDF announced the end of all restrictions on the area. Most restrictions had previously been removed, what remained was largely limits on gathering sizes.

Judea & Samaria

Israeli special forces (of Yamam) carried out a counterterrorism operation in Samaria, to arrest terrorists who were part of a Jenin terror cell.

During the operation, the forces spotted a wanted terror squad hiding in a cave, and fired at them. Two terrorists were eliminated on the spot, and one injured. Shortly after, the Air Force closed the loop, and eliminated the third terrorist.

Lebanon

On Sunday, the Air Force eliminated two Hezbollah terrorists who were in violation of the ceasefire agreement.

The first, Ali Hussein Almousawi, a weapons smuggler in the Bekaa region of Lebanon. Almousawi was a significant figure in Hezbollah’s operations to smuggle weapons through Syria into Lebanon, and was heavily involved in rebuilding the terror group’s weapons supply.

The second terrorist, Abd Mahmoud Alsayed, was eliminated in the Al-Naqoura area in southern Lebanon. Alsayed was responsible for loading between Hezbollah and the local residents in the area. He had been working on rebuilding Hezbollah’s military capabilities between civilian areas (likely inside homes too).

On Monday, the IDF eliminated two more Hezbollah terrorists who were in violation of the ceasefire agreement.

Hassan Ibrahim Saliman, from Hezbollah’s elite Radwan Forces, was eliminated in the Al-Bid area in southern Lebanon, along with co-terrorist Hassan Ibrahim Saliman. The two were engaged in developing terror routes towards Israel.

Since the ceasefire agreement went into effect, the IDF attacked Hezbollah with over 600 airstrikes, and eliminated over 350 terrorists.

According to News 12, Hezbollah’s choosing not to respond, while instead focusing on rebuilding under the radar—this time, in far deeper and more hidden locations.

In a little over two months, at the end of 2025, the deadline for Lebanon to disarm Hezbollah will be reached.

On Sunday, UNIFIL observers in the Kfar Kila area of southern Lebanon (very close to Israel) shot down an IDF drone.

According to the IDF, the drone posed no threat to the UNIFIL forces. In a statement, UNIFIL said that the drone flew over its patrol “in an aggressive manner,” and that “the peacekeepers applied necessary defensive countermeasures to neutralize the drone.”

After the UNIFIL forces downed the drone, the IDF flew another drone and dropped a grenade at a safe distance from the forces. The IDF says that both drones were working to disperse Hezbollah forces, and had nothing to do with UNIFIL.

According to a report from Le Figaro, the UNIFIL forces who shot down the drone were French.
