‘Halikut’ Marks 8th Year with Record Growth, New Publications
The worldwide Halikut program, a flagship initiative of the Vaad Talmidei Hatmimim, has entered its eighth year — and its biggest yet — with record participation, new learning tools, and a growing impact across Yeshivos.
What began eight years ago as a vision of Bochurim mastering an entire Chelek of Likkutei Sichos has evolved into a global movement spanning more than 25 Yeshivos. This year’s cycle, focused on Chelek Chof Hey, has seen over 1000 Bochurim participate in the program — the strongest start in Halikut’s history.
While the program’s mission remains the same — helping Bochurim retain and internalize the Rebbe’s Torah — the Vaad continues to expand Halikut with new elements that bring fresh energy and depth to Yeshiva learning.
Among this year’s additions is “Points to Ponder,” structured question sheets that guide students to think critically and analyze each Sicha in depth. The newly expanded Halikut Magazine, produced by the Vaad team, includes Sichos insights, rare stories, and explanations that make the learning relatable and alive in today’s context.
A major innovation drawing attention across Yeshivos is the Kovetz Ha’aros, reimagined for today’s generation. Each week, Bochurim receive a booklet of sharp, thought-provoking questions and are invited to submit their own insights and answers. The strongest responses are featured the following week — creating a global, interactive conversation in the Rebbe’s Torah that reflects the Vaad’s hallmark approach: combining structure, excitement, and real engagement.
Hanhala shared that the program is reshaping the tone and energy of Yeshiva. “Halikut, especially with all the new additions, has changed the entire atmosphere of the Yeshiva,” said Rabbi Amram Farkash, Menahel of YOEC Los Angeles.
In Baltimore Zal, Rabbi Levi Najar described it as “what Bochurim are breathing these days. It’s in the zal, in the dorm, in the hallways — everywhere.”
From Crown Heights to Kiryat Gat, Montreal to Melbourne, Bochurim can be found reviewing Sichos late at night, debating Points to Ponder, and checking if their Ha’aros were featured that week — a testament to how the Vaad’s investment in educational design continues to pay dividends in learning and enthusiasm.
“As Halikut enters its eighth year, it continues to embody the Vaad Talmidei Hatmimim’s mission: giving every Bochur structure, clarity, and a personal connection to the Rebbe’s Torah,” says Vaad Program Director Rabbi Meir Deren
Excitement is already building for the annual Halikut Grand Siyum, the capstone event of the year’s learning. Last year’s Siyum — which combined multimedia storytelling, live testing, and high production quality — set a new bar for presentation and inspiration. This year’s event, already in preparation, aims to go even further.
