The mayor of Haditch, Mr. Vladimir Nistorenko, has informed the Rebbe’s shliach in the city and director of the Heichal Rabbenu Hazaken complex, Rabbi Shneur Zalman Deitsch, that construction has begun to repair and upgrade the roads leading into Haditch.
The mayor of Haditch, Mr. Vladimir Nistorenko, has notified the Rebbe’s shliach in the city and director of the Heichal Rabbenu Hazaken complex, Rabbi Shneur Zalman Deitsch, that construction has begun to repair and upgrade the roads leading into Haditch.
The bumpy and deteriorated roads are familiar to all who have made the journey to daven at the tziyun of the Alter Rebbe. Over the years, especially during times of increased traffic around yomei depagra, the condition of the roads posed difficulties for both private visitors and organized groups.
Rabbi Deitsch expressed his appreciation to the mayor for his efforts to address this long-standing issue, which will greatly improve access to the holy site. He also extended thanks to Rabbi Meir Stambler, the Rebbe’s shliach and chairman of the Federation of Jewish Communities in Ukraine, who worked tirelessly for years to bring the matter forward. Rabbi Stambler was instrumental in drafting the proposals and advocating with government offices until the project was approved.
It is expected that the improvements will also strengthen Haditch itself, easing travel for local residents while further encouraging Yidden of all backgrounds to visit the Alter Rebbe.
