Camp Gan Yisroel Toronoto has officially announced that they will not be opening for 2020 summer due to coronavirus lock-down restrictions.
In a letter to parents, directors Rabbi Itchy and Goldy Grossbaum wrote the following:
“With saddened hearts and immense disappointment, we regret to
inform you that the Government of Ontario has ocially closed all
overnight camps for this summer. The government has deemed that
camps in Ontario cannot provide the necessary safety measures to
assure that every individual is virus free and thus avoid the spread of
Covid19.
“Should there be any changes in this ruling we will certainly consider
opening up and will keep you posted.
“We were hoping to provide our campers with a summer replete with
excitement, varmkeit, Classidishkeit in safe environment.
“Although we are required to cancel camp, we will refund 100% of your
payment. We make this offer knowing that the financial impact on camp is challenging as we have and continue to incur huge expenditures anticipating camp’s opening and ongoing expenses
“We are currently exploring alternative options to keep our campers engaged and entertained.”
