Following the purchase of the Frierdiker Rebbe’s apartment in Leningrad/Petersburg, local shluchim and anash gathered there to celebrate Yud Beis Tammuz demonstrating the ultimate transformation of darkness to light.
A lavish seuda was served and participants told the story of the arrest and imprisonment. The apartment, located at 22 Machovaya St., is a most appropriate place to celebrate the geulah.
Farbrenging were shluchim Rabbi Mendel Pewzner, the Chief Rabbi of St. Petersburg, Rabbi Shmuel Mendelson, a shliach in central St. Petersburg, and Rabbi Ifrah Abramov, the shliach to the prison system where the Frierdiker Rebbe was held. They were welcomed by the apartment’s owner Mr. Julien Cohen.
