Pre-1-A Rebbi at Lubavitch Yeshiva, Rabbi Mendel Kohn, has taken his passion for education and Jewish pride to a new level with the release of his latest song, “ארץ ישראל שלנו” (“Eretz Yisrael Belongs to Us”), built with Rashi’s words about the eternal bond between Jewish people and Eretz Yisroel.
A Pre-1-A Rebbi at Lubavitch Yeshiva has taken his passion for education and Jewish pride to a new level with the release of his latest song, “ארץ ישראל שלנו” (“Eretz Yisrael Belongs to Us”). More than just music, the song was written as a response to current events, declaring the eternal bond between the Jewish people and Eretz Yisroel.
“As a Pre-1-A Rebbi at Lubavitch Yeshiva, I’m passionate about education and inspiring others,” shared Rabbi Mendel Kohn, whose previous song, “ECHOD,” won over listeners with its powerful message of unity and devotion to Hashem. “My goal is to make a positive impact through my abilities,” he added.
Reflecting on the message of his previous hit, he said, “The song aimed to highlight the special bond between Hashem and the Jewish people.” With lyrics celebrating this relationship, the song underscored Hashem’s declaration, “מי כעמך ישראל גוי אחד בארץ” (“Who is like Your people, Israel, a unique nation on earth?”), alongside the Jewish people’s own response, “שמע ישראל… ה’ אחד” (“Hear, O Israel, the Lord is One”).
But with the recent rise in misinformation about Eretz Yisroel, the Rebbi felt compelled to share another vital message. “Since October 7, completely false claims have spread, suggesting Jews occupy land that isn’t theirs,” he explained. This narrative, he believes, has fueled confusion among many, weakening their commitment to protecting the land.
The Rebbi pointed to the words of the Rebbe, echoing Rashi, as a guiding principle: “When it comes to international politics surrounding Eretz Yisroel, the most effective stance is to assert confidently that Hashem gifted Eretz Yisroel to the Jewish people.” Inspired by this message, he poured his passion into his new song, “ארץ ישראל שלנו,” to spread awareness and reinforce this essential truth.
“I hope it inspires a positive impact,” he shared, expressing his hope that the song’s powerful lyrics will remind listeners of their unwavering connection to Eretz Yisrael. With a melody that stirs the heart and lyrics that resonate with conviction, the Rebbi’s latest creation is sure to make waves throughout the Jewish community and beyond.
