The first-of-its-kind “Shabbos Anash International,” bringing together Anash from North America, Europe, and communities around the world, for a meaningful Shabbos at the Ohel with community rabbonim and mashpiim, is set for Shabbos Parshas Teruma, Rosh Chodesh Adar.
Excitement is growing for the first-of-its-kind Shabbos Anash International, set for שבת פרשת תרומה – שקלים, Rosh Chodesh Adar, March 1st. This special gathering will bring together Anash from North America, Europe, and communities around the world for a meaningful Shabbos at the Ohel.
Many communities of Anash already hold annual trips to the Ohel, and the goal of this initiative is to provide a Shabbos experience where any individual or community — large or small — can come to the Ohel knowing that all their needs will be taken care of, including accommodations and a full program.
The event is being organized by several community leaders, including Rabbi Baruch Hertz, Rav of Anash of Chicago, and Rabbi Getsel Itzinger, who directs Anash Community Projects in the UK. The organizers are working to ensure an inspiring and smooth experience for all. Rabbi Abba Refson of Ohel Chabad Lubavitch is overseeing all arrangements to accommodate and welcome the guests.
Other project leaders include Rabbi Boruch Hertz, Rabbi Getsel Itzinger, Rabbi Mendel Azimov, Rabbi Mendel Lipskar (CA), Rabbi Yosef Marlow, Rabbi Yosef Yitzchok Paltiel, and Rabbi Chaim Shapiro.
The program will begin on Friday morning with Shacharis, hachana, and going into the Ohel as a group, followed by breakfast. The program will run through a Motzei Shabbos Melava Malka in Crown Heights. Opportunities for davening, learning, farbrenging, and everything that makes spending a Shabbos at the Rebbe’s Ohel special will all be arranged, with dual tracks in English and Yiddish.
A website for easy registration of your community will soon be available. For more information or to register your community today, please contact Rabbi Baruch Hertz at 773-662-6743 or Rabbi Getsel Itzinger at +44-7768-007447. Community leaders who register with the project organizers will soon be able to sign up members of their respective communities.
The Vaad Hapoel involved in planning the logistics of the Shabbos includes Rabbi Moshe Markowitz, Rabbi Shmuel Schochet (Montreal), Rabbi Levi Shemtov (Detroit) and Rabbi Levi Teichtel (Rockland County).
