Father and Son Chavrusos Opens Elul Zman in Antwerp

In what was described as a mini Kinus HaShluchim, fathers and sons, many of them shluchim, began the Elul zman at the Antwerp Mesivta with palpable excitement, accompanying their children as they entered Tomchei Temimim to start a year filled with learning and growth in Torah and Chassidus.

A festive opening of zman Elul was held at Yeshivas Tomchei Temimim Antwerp, Belgium.
The yeshiva numbers close to one hundred students and serves as a warm incubator for the sons of shluchim from across Europe.

The opening of the term serves as a mini Kinus HaShluchim for the parents of the students, who made the effort to come to the event and accompany their sons as they begin in Tomchei Temimim to become proper temimim as is fitting.

The yeshiva’s students welcomed the younger temimim who arrived to learn in shiur Alef, alongside the more veteran classes, shiur Beis and shiur Gimmel.

The program opened with words of blessing from the rosh yeshiva, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Tvardovitz, and from the chairman of the institutions and mashpia kloli, Rabbi Shabtai Slavaticki.

Following the opening remarks, the students learned together—fathers and sons—with palpable excitement and chayus, studying Masechta Bava Kama, the masechta being learned in the yeshiva this year.

The yeshiva’s administration conveyed that in honor of the new year additional rabbanim have joined the staff, and there will be a special emphasis on the Yiddish language. The yeshiva places great importance on learning Yiddish, “dem Rebben shprach,” and, be’ezras Hashem, will help every student understand and speak Yiddish.
