Every Wednesday. Every Child. Your Lasting Impact.

Often described as the largest Hebrew school in America, Released Time educates close to 1,000 Jewish children each year. On Yud Shevat, they turn to you to become their partner.

Often described as the largest Hebrew school in America, Released Time educates close to 1,000 Jewish children each year. On Yud Shevat, they turn to you to become their partner.

Reaching more than 90 schools across New York, Released Time educates more than 700 children each year through weekly classes—in person and on Zoom—and inspires hundreds more through day camps, Shabbatons, and Yom Tov programs. Many of these children receive little or no other Jewish education, and are embraced with the warmth, pride, and love of Yiddishkeit.

Released Time meets students where they are, both literally and spiritually, bringing Jewish learning directly into public schools with warmth, joy, and care. One hour a week becomes a lifelong spark.

Over the past year, Released Time has accomplished and expanded in several meaningful ways:

  • Expansion to Long Island: For the first time in over a decade, Released Time has returned to Long Island, now operating in more than three public schools — reviving a mission that had been absent for far too long.
  • Girls’ Education: The addition of female instructors has transformed the way Released Time girls experience Torah learning. Girls now connect with their female instructors, forming meaningful bonds through Sunday learning groups and online chats exclusively for them.
  • 65 Yeshiva Transfers: About ten percent of weekly students, inspired by the love and warmth of their teachers, transitioned into Jewish schools. Released Time helped facilitate these moves across all five boroughs.

On the holy day of Yud Shevat, a day when all those inspired by the Rebbe renew their commitment to the mission he entrusted to our generation, Released Time launches its annual campaign to raise $450,000.

The Rebbe spoke passionately about Released Time throughout the years. On Yud Shevat 5726 (1966), the Rebbe wrote: “On the day of the Yahrzeit of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, it is my sincere hope that you are doing — and will continue to do in the future — all that you can to support Released Time.”

That message rings louder today than ever before.

Every donation helps Released Time expand to one more school, helps another child go to yeshiva, helps another family bring Torah into their home.

Every Wednesday. Every Child. Every Neshama.
