Mrs. Esther Mindel Borenstein, longtime shlucha to Florence and Bologna, Italy, and matriarch of a large Lubavitch family, passed away on Sunday evening, 15 Shevat.

She is survived by her husband, Rabbi Eliyahu Dovid Hakohen Borenstein, and their children: Devorah Leah Kirsh (Shlucha, Chelyabinsk, Russia), Chani Konikov (Shlucha, Orlando, FL), Rabbi Meir Borenstein (Shliach, Goshen, NY), Shmuli Borenstein (Crown Heights), Rivky Shabtai (Crown Heights), Sruli Borenstein (Beit Shemesh, EY), Chaya Mushka Haller (Shlucha, Dingley Village Australia), Malka Liberow (Shlucha, Porto Alegre, Brazil), Breina Baila Horvitz (Shlucha, Queens, NY), and Sholom Ber Borenstein (Charlotte NC); and by her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her siblings: Miriam Greenblat, Moshe Zimberg, Leah Kaplan, all of Far Rockaway, and Marcia Katz of Crown Heights.

The levaya will take place tomorrow, passing by 770 at 2 PM, followed by Kevura near the Ohel at 3 PM.
