Shluchim Drive Over an Hour to Join Detroit Siyum Harambam

Yeshivas Lubavitch of Detroit held a grand Siyum Harambam celebration on Thursday, 21 Tammuz, with the participation of the local community. Local shluchim from within a 1.5 hour radius drove in to join the siyum.

Yeshivas Lubavitch of Detroit held a grand Siyum Harambam celebration on Thursday, 21 Tammuz, in accordance with the Rebbe’s instructions to hold siyumim in as many locations as possible.

Members of the Detroit Chabad community joined the bochurim, with over 200 attendees at the Zekelman Campus for a full meal and program celebrating the completion of the 40th cycle of Rambam study, and the start of the 41st. Shluchim from surrounding areas also traveled to join the siyum, with some driving over an hour to attend.

The event was emceed by local shliach Rabbi Yisroel Pinson. Guest speaker was Rabbi Chaim Schapiro, menahel ruchni of Yeshivas Tomchei Tmimim Morristown. The new cycle of Rambam study was begun by Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Gershon Steinmetz.

The program also included a special segment for children, headed by the cheder’s principal Rabbi Mendel Klein. The children’s segment included a siyum on Sefer Hamitzvos by a cheder student, who had dedicated time every single day over the past year to fulfill the Rebbe’s hora’a.

Following the official program, the crowd sat down for a farbrengen with Rabbi Schapiro, which continued for many long hours.
