Derher Produces Rosh Chodesh Kislev Story, Kahoot

As families and schools prepare for Rosh Chodesh Kislev, Derher for Kids has launched a special program to make the day’s story more engaging and relatable.

As families and schools prepare for Rosh Chodesh Kislev, Derher for Kids has launched a special program to make the day’s story more engaging and relatable.

The package includes a new 10-minute video of the story of Rosh Chodesh Kislev, told by a voice familiar to thousands of children: Rabbi Levi Greenberg, the narrator of the popular Derher for Kids Podcast.

For weekly listeners, this is the exciting chance to finally “see the voice,” putting a face to the narrator they’ve come to know.

Designed as a “lesson in a box,” the package is perfect for parents wanting a meaningful activity or for teachers planning a lesson. The video comes with a full set of accompanying materials:

  • Interactive Kahoot Game: A fun and exciting way to test kids’ knowledge of the story.
  • Printable Story: A convenient printout of the story for children to read along or for parents to review.
  • Parent/Teacher Answer Sheet: Makes it simple to run the Kahoot game.

The program has already received enthusiastic feedback. It was previewed at the virtual Kinus, where participants got to watch the video and play the Kahoot.

We appreciate your feedback. If you have any additional information to contribute to this article, it will be added below.

  1. The story is told so well and with such warmth. i feel almost guilty to make my comment . However , i do think that for today’s kids the background should have been a bit more attractive and colorful.
Perhaps even doing it in 770, and showing the Rebbe’s room, the shul, the outside -in short all the areas of 770-in short all the areas of 770 that were involved in the story.
of course the possibilities are endless with today’s technology. however I can understand why you might have intentionally not wanted the tech glamour to perhaps detract from the story itself.
But as I said the story is told beautifully.

    1. Most of the time, video or animation lose the feeling of the story. It’s okay for children to use their imagination and they actually internalize it better that way. Sometimes less is more.
