Deadline Approaching for Affordable Housing in Crown Heights
A new state run affordable housing lottery has opened for brand new apartments at 548 Utica Avenue, a development that features a playground, co working rooms, and modern amenities rarely seen in subsidized housing.
A new affordable housing opportunity has opened in Crown Heights, offering apartments in a wide range of income brackets with multiple layouts and sizes. For residents who have been searching for something new, this development provides an option that has not been available until now.
Located at 548 Utica Avenue, this state-of-the-art, newly built complex features many conveniences, including a playground, rooms for community gatherings, bike storage, a landscaped courtyard, co-working areas, package receiving, laundry rooms, EnergyStar appliances, and a twenty-four-hour on-site security presence. The building was designed with modern systems and materials, and several units are already adapted for mobility, hearing, or vision needs, with additional accommodations available upon request.
The program is run through New York State, not the NYC housing system, and follows its own application process. The lottery is open to a broad range of household sizes and income levels, with studio, one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom units available.
The deadline to apply is December 1, and the lottery will take place on December 15.
