The Jewish community of Cyprus gathered for a moving Hachnasas Sefer Torah in memory of Yisroel Hakohen Yudkin HY”D, a soldier from a Lubavitch family who was killed al kidush Hashem while protecting Yidden in Eretz Yisroel.
The Sefer Torah was brought with great joy into the central shul in Larnaca, Cyprus, where his brother, yibadel l’chaim tovim, Rabbi Levi Yudkin, serves as director of Kashrus under the shliach and Chief Rabbi of Cyprus, Rabbi Aryeh Zeev Raskin.
This is the third Sefer Torah written l’ilui nishmas Yisroel HY”D in an effort by the family and broader community to transform darkness into light and kedusha.
