Conversations in Chassidus: Being a Beinoni in 2026
In honor of Chof-Daled Teves, a special episode of ‘Conversations In Chassidus’ explores the possibility for all of us to indeed be a Beinoni, with an eye-opening appreciation of this fundamental topic.
The million-dollar question to ask any Lubavitcher chossid:
“Do you see yourself able to be a Beinoni?”
For some reason, as much as we buy into Torah’s eternity, as much as we rally behind the divine holiness of the Rebbe’im’s words, and as much as we believe in the relevance of Chassidus, there is one final frontier that we still approach with hesitant cynicism (I speak of myself, of course): the Beinoni. That insurmountable, impregnable and impractical concept, applicable only to a select few of whom we whisper in hushed reverence. But “Me? A Beinoni?! Are you crazy?!”
We confine ourselves to the comfortable complacency of being considered resha’im, and move about with our busy lives. “It’s not like anyone can expect of us to be a Beinoni,” we tell ourselves, “I mean, did you see what the Alter Rebbe writes as the definition of the Benoini in Perek Yud-Beis of Tan-“
Wait a minute. Isn’t Tanya also known (by its official name) as “Sefer Shel Beinonim”? Isn’t the Alter Rebbe expecting us to learn about, and to aspire to be, a Beinoni?
It’s ironic that the most central sefer of chassidus is centered around a concept that we often distance ourselves from the most…
In honor of Chof-Daled Teves, and in connection with the Tanya of recent Chitas, we are pleased to present a special edition of Conversations in Chassidus: Episode 4, with Rabbi Naftali Silberberg.
In this episode, we tackle this very issue of the relevance of the Beinoni. We explore the depth of the Beinoni as it relates to the depth of Tanya’s message, with a fascinating, eye-opening insight of Rabbi Silberberg, of “Let’s Talk Tanya” fame.
Learn to view the Beinoni as a more connected idea to yourself. Learn to view yourself as a Beinoni.
Structured as a farbrengen, these Real-life conversations about real-life Chassidus will bez”h encourage us to realign the direction of our lives and the focus of our passion to the ways of Chassidus, by internalizing the teachings of Chassidus in a truly meaningful way.
Episodes will bez”h be released every other week.
They can be found on YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Amazon Music, and 24Six, all under “Conversations in Chassidus.”
