US Congressman Mike Lawler represents New York’s 17th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives, a position he has held since January 2023. The district is located just north of New York City and includes all or parts of Rockland, Putnam, Dutchess, and Westchester Counties.
The proclamations were issued to Chabad communities in Rockland, Suffern, the Nyacks, Pomona, Stony Point, Armonk, Briarcliff & Ossining, Yorktown, Bedford, and Putnam.
In an online message, Congressman Lawler wrote:
“I had the honor of presenting proclamations to Chabad communities across my district, recognizing their extraordinary commitment to education, faith, and service inspired by Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, one of the most influential Jewish leaders in modern American history, who is recognized on Education and Sharing Day.”
“Your work strengthens our communities and carries forward a legacy of learning, character, and compassion,” Lawler concluded.
