Rosh Chodesh Kislev was celebrated on a grand scale this year in Yeshivas Lubavitch of Cincinnati, as 100 bochurim and Anash gathered to mark the day with dancing, a seudas hodaah and a grand farbrengen with guest speaker Rabbi Shmuel Wagner.
Rosh Chodesh Kislev was celebrated on a grand scale this year in Yeshivas Lubavitch of Cincinnati, as 100 bochurim together with members of the local Anash community gathered on Thursday night to mark the day.
The evening began with music and lively dancing celebrating the Rebbe’s miraculous recovery, followed by a grand seudas hodaah thanking Hashem, along with a special video presentation about Rosh Chodesh Kislev and its significance. The members of the hanhala – Rabbi Gershon Avtzon, Rabbi Shmuel Granoveter, Rabbi Eli Simpson, and Rabbi Levi Simpson – farbrenged and addressed the crowd.
After the seudah and Maariv, the bochurim gathered for the highlight of the celebration – a large farbrengen with a special guest speaker, who traveled in from New York to farbreng with the bochurim, Rabbi Shmuel Wagner of Lubavitcher Yeshiva on Ocean Parkway, who will be directing the new ULY Mesivta set to open next year.
He spoke about the meaning of celebrating Rosh Chodesh Kislev for bochurim, especially in the years after Gimmel Tammuz. He also strongly encouraged them to strengthen their hiskashrus to the Rebbe through learning his Torah and doing mivtzoim.
The farbrengen and celebration were arranged by the dedicated talmidim hashluchim of the yeshiva.
