Children’s Room Pierced by Fragment Seconds After Evacuation

Residents of Bnei Brak witnessed an extraordinary miracle Sunday afternoon when a deadly fragment from an Iranian missile barrage tore through the children’s bedroom of a local Anash family just seconds after the children had fled to safety.
Emergency forces rushed to Yerushalayim Street in Bnei Brak after a cluster munition struck a residential area during the barrage toward central Israel. The explosion caused significant damage to a building and nearby apartments, shattering windows and sending heavy steel fragments flying across the neighborhood.
According to initial defense assessments, the missile was a cluster-type munition that splits mid-air, releasing numerous smaller explosive fragments. Each fragment contains a heavy steel warhead capable of causing severe destruction when it strikes buildings or vehicles.
One of those fragments entered the home of the Weinberg family, members of the Bnei Brak Anash community.
Just seconds earlier, the family’s children had been in the room.
As the sirens sounded, the oldest daughter, an 11-year-old, quickly gathered her two younger sisters and led them out of the bedroom toward the building’s internal staircase. Only moments after they left, a large steel fragment blasted through the wall of the room and lodged near the head of one of the beds.
“Ten seconds earlier, the girls were sitting there,” neighbors said in amazement.
According to United Hatzalah in Bnei Brak, about fifteen people at the impact site suffered only light injuries or shock. “It was a major neis,” the director said in an interview with Kol Barama radio.
