Rabbi Barnett’s Pre-1A class from Oholei Torah visited Mr. Green’s to learn about exotic fruits in honor of Tu B’Shvat, ‘Rosh Hashana for trees.’

Students from Oholei Torah Pre-1A accompanied Rabbi Mendy Barnett and Rabbi Shmulie Stone to Mr. Green’s produce market Thursday. The trip was made in honor of the 15th of Shvat, the day that marks the ‘new year’ for trees.

The students were given a tour by owner Shloime Klein who showed the students different exotic fruits, and spoke about each one. The children also had a chance to feel and taste some of the fruit, delighting their senses with new tastes.
