Children Bring Elul Spirit to the Parkway

Dozens of families enjoyed the Kids’ Art Festival on the JCM Plaza, with mural coloring, clay and sticker projects, L’shana Tova cards, and colorful tissue-paper fish. At a rally, children said pesukim, recited Tehillim, and gave tzedakah, filling the plaza with a spirit of joy and achdus.

Pop! Hi there! It’s us, the Bubbles, reporting live from the Jewish Children’s Museum Kids’ Art Festival on the JCM Plaza! We floated all through, and oh boy, do we have stories to tell.

We zoomed past kids bouncing on giant balls, boing, boing! And we giggled when they tried to catch us mid-air. (Spoiler: no one can hold onto us for long!) We floated over to the Kosher Wonderland Wall and wow! We watched it come alive with colors, markers, and crayons until it looked like a giant rainbow mural.

Drifting lower, we peeked at sparkly clay food sprinkled with gems (so shiny, we almost thought we were looking in a mirror). We bounced past dot markers and stickers decorating the brachos food groups, oh, the concentration on those little faces! Then we got pulled into the Bubble Sensory Station, where kids made more of… well, us! Circles, squares, even bubble chains. It felt like we were at a family reunion!

And the art—oh, the art! We saw apples being layered with strips of red paper for L’shana Tova cards, and colorful tissue paper turning fish into kosher swimming masterpieces. Everywhere we floated, we saw creativity sparkling as bright as we do in the sun.

But you know what really made our soapy hearts swell? Hearing children say pesukimTehillim, and give tzedakah. That’s when the plaza didn’t just shimmer with bubbles, it glowed with achdus.

So here’s our biggest bubble thank-you to the Crown Heights community for filling the JCM Plaza with laughter and love. Huge thanks to Rabbi Zalman Friedman for keeping the energy high, Mrs. Devorah Halberstam, Rabbi Yerachmiel Benjaminson, and Rabbi Sholom Ber Baumgarten, for making it all possible, and of course, the Jewish Children’s Museum Education Team, for running this event.

We may have popped, but the joy of the Kids’ Art Festival will keep floating forever.

Wishing you a Ksiva Vchasima Tova Lshana Tova Umisuka!
