‘Chassidus Club’ Is a Lifeline for Young Shluchim

This Sunday, MyShliach’s Chassidus Club launches with a complimentary session in honor of Chai Elul, providing children in remote areas the opportunity to build friendships and engage with Chassidishe values through interactive, weekly learning.

For young Shlucha Leah Silberberg from a small town in London Ontario, Canada, living far from a Lubavitcher school means she often misses out on the kind of Chassidishe experiences many of her peers take for granted. “It’s not often she gets to spend time with friends who truly understand her values and what it’s like growing up on Shlichus,” shares her mother Mrs. Nechamie Silberberg. “But the Chassidus Club has been a game-changer. She counts down to Sundays.”

This Sunday, MyShliach’s Chassidus Club kicks off again, offering free weekly sessions for young Shluchim in 1st-4th grade. Designed for those who lack access to a local Lubavitcher school, the club provides a vital connection to Chassidishe values and friends, bringing together young Shluchim from around the world.

“The Rebbe had a deep love for Yaldei HaShluchim, recognizing them not just as children, but as Shluchim themselves with a vital role in their families’ mission,” says Rabbi Mendy Kotlarsky, executive director of Merkos 302. “Through programs like Chassidus Club, we’re ensuring these children receive the Chassidishe education, community, and personal attention they need to thrive and carry forward their unique Shlichus.”

With children joining from countries like New Zealand, Brazil, and South Africa, the Chassidus Club has become a global community, filled with fun, learning, and a sense of belonging. Each Sunday, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM EST, children log on for an immersive experience. The program begins with Hayom Yom and a Rebbe story, followed by interactive projects and games that bring Chassidishe concepts to life.

“We’re always thinking about how to make the material exciting and relevant for them,” explains Rabbi Dudi Ashkenazi, MyShliach Chassidus Club coordinator at Merkos 302. “Whether it’s a hands-on craft or a virtual farbrengen, we want the children to feel the warmth of Chassidus in a fun, engaging way.”

The club was originally born during the early days of the pandemic, when isolation made it harder than ever for young Shluchim to connect with their peers. What began as a temporary solution has since evolved into a weekly highlight for hundreds of children. The structured yet fun program creates a space for kids to make friends and experience Chassidishe education, no matter where they are in the world.

The Chassidus Club curriculum is dynamic and engaging, from learning about Chassidishe yomim tovim to hands-on projects like making ice cream in honor of Shavuos or crafting invisible ink to illustrate the mission of the Meraglim in Parshas Shelach. The program ensures that children not only learn about Chassidus but also experience it in a way that feels relevant to their everyday lives.

“Chassidus Club is more than just a class,” says Rabbi Yossi Elberg, Program Director at MyShliach. “It’s about creating an environment where children feel connected and supported. We’re building a community where young Shluchim can thrive.”

As the new year begins, MyShliach’s Chassidus Club continues to serve as an anchor for young Shluchim. With its combination of learning, creativity, and camaraderie, the club helps lay the foundation for a strong Chassidishe identity, even in the most remote corners of the globe.
