Over 1000 people gathered on the San Antonio River in the heart of downtown San Antonio, Texas, for the 22 Annual Chanukah-on-the-River celebration.
Hundreds of people cruised down the river in special boats outfitted with Menorahs, as actors depicting scenes from the Chanukah story were scattered along the riverboat route. The boats arrived at the Arneson River Theatre to sounds of mariachis playing Jewish music, giving the celebration a unique Texas flavor.
Mayor Ron Nirenberg brought greetings from the city of San Antonio, and the Maccabeats entertained the crowd with a memorable concert.
