Designed to foster friendship and community through sports, the Men’s Synagogue Softball League (MSSL), is a semi-competitive league featuring 46 Jewish teams from across the Greater Boston area.
The league, which draws players from various shuls and communities in and around Boston – many of which are not Orthodox – provides a unique platform for connection and engagement.
Shliach in Wellesley Weston, Rabbi Moshe Bleich, has participated with his Chabad House members, as a way to bond and reach new Yidden. Each game is utilized as an opportunity for mivtzoim, encouraging participants to don tefillin while enjoying the company and challenge of the league.
This season, the Wellesley Weston Chabad baseball team won the championship in the Men’s Synagogue Softball League (MSSL) with a flawless 11-0 record. Their impressive victory earned acclaim from the other teams, hopefully leading to more connection to Yiddishkeit and Chabad.
