Chabad Girls High School (CGHS) of Baltimore is thrilled to announce the hiring of Mrs. Miri Levin to head its esteemed faculty. Mrs. Levin, a native of Eretz Yisrael, brings over 13 years of experience in teaching Judaic and Hebrew language to students, and she is deeply passionate about empowering young women and educating and inspiring today’s generation through warmth and connection.
In addition to teaching at CGHS, Mrs. Levin served as the Chair of the Hebrew Language Department at Beth Tfiloh Middle School and as a Hebrew Instructor at Towson University. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Bible and Judaic Studies from Beis Rivkah Seminary and Michlala Yerushalayim, and she is currently pursuing a Master’s in Jewish Education at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
A Commitment to Excellence and Personal Growth
CGHS has been committed to nurturing confident, informed young women grounded in the timeless teachings of Torah and Chassidus. With a strong curriculum, small class sizes, and dedicated teachers, the school provides a supportive and personalized learning environment.
The words of the Rebbe resonate deeply with the school’s mission: “You must be ‘lights to shed light’ — brightly burning lights who must also kindle and illuminate others” (Likkutei Sichos Vol. 13, pg. 191). CGHS instills in students the value of leading with their unique strengths and talents, fostering a community where each girl is encouraged to grow and lead.
Unique Experiences Beyond the Classroom
In addition to academic excellence, CGHS offers a variety of extracurricular activities to engage students beyond the classroom. Leah from Rome, Italy, shares her excitement about the after-school programs in the dorm, where students are well-supported by their dorm mother and dorm counselor. The program features trips, Shabbos visits with local shluchim, and cozy common areas for students to relax and bond.
Sara from Owings Mills, MD, highlights the special atmosphere created by CGHS’s exceptional teachers. With engaging lessons and creative assignments, students are not only prepared for tests but are also encouraged to understand the material in a fun and engaging way. Each teacher supports students at their own level, ensuring that every girl can learn, improve, and succeed at her own pace.
Miriam from Little Rock, AR, emphasizes how the small school size fosters a tight-knit community where no one is overlooked. The school’s emphasis on individualized attention, along with exciting extracurriculars like Shabbatons and school trips, makes CGHS a truly special place.
A Strong Focus on Both Limudei Kodesh and Limudei Chol
The school’s academic curriculum, designed to empower students both spiritually and academically, includes a challenging Limudei Kodesh program that builds independent study skills in Torah and Chassidus, under the leadership of Mrs. Chana Pewzner, the Limudei Kodesh Curriculum Director. Mrs. Pewzner is dedicated to ensuring that students not only learn but also develop the tools to study independently.
On the Limudei Chol side, Mrs. Caroline Friedman, the Curriculum Director for General Studies, leads a comprehensive program that prepares girls for success in the modern world. Offering a full Maryland high school curriculum, including math, science, history, English, and more, CGHS ensures that students graduate with a well-rounded education and a high school diploma, fully equipped for the next step in their lives.
Parent Testimonials Highlight CGHS’s Impact
Parents of CGHS students have expressed their gratitude for the warm and welcoming environment at the school.
