Rabbi Avrohom and Dinie Gurary, directors of Camp Pardes Chana announced that they will be unable to open for summer 2020, as the Government of Quebec is not allowing overnight camps.

Here is their letter to parents:

To our dear Parents, Amazing Staff and our Precious Campers,

With a heaviness that we cannot fathom, we need to inform you that Camp Pardas Chanah will not be able to operate this summer. Yesterday, we were informed that the Government of Quebec is not allowing overnight camps to run this season.

We can assure you that we turned over worlds to make Summer – 5780 happen. The last few months have been spent planning how we could operate without compromising the health and safety of our campers.

For months, our dedicated team of Head Staff, prepared a summer program beyond compare. What was their passion and drive? The knowledge that they would be able to give our campers a place to create everlasting friendships and memories in an atmosphere of joy and fun. That together, we would infuse our campers with a super dose of Yiddishkeit and Chassidishkeit in the camp they call their summer home.

As you can imagine we are all devastated. The loss is felt by all of us, especially our dear and precious campers who look forward to the summer all year. This is our message to you.

To our dear campers,

This summer, the camp theme was all about being Besimcha, infusing every part of our lives, in all situations, with Simcha – “Der Rebbe hut Geheissen Freilach Zayn.”

Our message to you is.Take this theme and make it a reality. These days are not easy. There are many disappointments, sadness and pain. However, every Pardas Chanah camper knows;

We will overcome!

We will be victorious!

We will bring Moshiach!

We will break barriers – Simcha Poretz Geder. Hold on tight! Keep the strength the positivity and the Simcha. We love you all so much!

Now to you dear parents, what is next going forward?

Please give us time to work through this difficult period. We will get back to you with further information about how we intend to deal with the financial aspect.

We know the thought of an unstructured summer is overwhelming to all of us. We are considering possible ideas of summer programming and will keep you posted.

Kabolas Hatorah B’Simcha U’bepnimius!

With deep regret,

We remain

The Pardas Chanah family

Rabbi Avrohom & Dinie Gurary
