Rabbi Levi and Mirel Mintz (née Wolvovsky) were announced as the newest Chabad Shluchim to California who will be establishing Chabad of Tiburon.
Named by Forbes “The Most Beautiful California Town”, Tiburon is located just north of San Francisco. The acclaimed Tiburon schools are ranked among the best in California. Many new families are choosing to settle there, as well as many seniors in search for the ideal place to retire.
Rabbi Mintz was born and raised in Crown Heights, graduated from Chabad Yeshivos, and has been extensively involved in outreach work as a rabbinical student. His experience includes organizing Jewish outreach programs and holiday events in multiple countries, such as India, Hungary, France and Greece.
Mirel Mintz was raised on shlichus in S. Rosa, CA where her parents Rabbi Mendel and Altie Wolvovsky run Chabad of Sonoma County. She has been running educational programs and teen activities in Sonoma County. Additionally, Mirel taught in acclaimed Hebrew schools, including New York Hebrew, CHS of Roslyn and of Westchester. “Being raised in Santa Rosa, CA, I always wanted to move back to Northern California and share my excitement for Yiddishkeit there,” Mirel told Anash.org.
The Mintz’s focus will be on making Torah’s teaching and practice available and exciting to all. “We are very excited to begin this Shlichus,” they said.
The Mintzs will work alongside the Shluchim in Mill Valley, CA, Rabbi Hillel and Chana Scop, as well as Rabbi Mendel and Yocheved Mishulovin of Chabad of Corte Madera. Chabad of Marin is headed by Rabbi Yisroel and Guila Rice.
