Building on Pesach’s Success, Rockland Gears Up for Shavuos

After a successful Matza campaign that involved Monsey families in mivtzoim across Rockland County, Rabbi Levi Teichtel and Rabbi Adam Goodfriend from Igud Anash are gearing up for Shavuos with efforts towards Aseres Hadibros in Shul and Sefer Torah letter sign-up.

This past Pesach, something remarkable unfolded in Rockland County—not at a Chabad House, but across an entire community. Nearly 100 pounds of Shmura Matzah and over 350 beautifully designed Pesach guides were distributed by kids and their families, reaching homes, stores, and nursing facilities. The effort spanned three schools and nearly ten shuls, all joining forces to fulfill the Rebbe’s vision of Mivtza Matzah.

Children were the driving force, energized by thoughtful incentives and the power of purpose. Under the guidance of Rabbi Levi Teichtel and Rabbi Adam Goodfriend from Igud Anash, the initiative wasn’t just impactful—it was deeply personal. Families didn’t just “give out Matzah.” They brought the Yom Tov spirit to their neighbors, elderly community members, and even strangers—many of whom may not have had a Pesach seder otherwise.

The campaign didn’t stop at Rockland County. For the first time ever, Monsey’s Matzah reached families nationwide—from California to Florida—thanks to a rapidly growing network of volunteers and supporters.

Looking Ahead: Two Big Pushes for Shavuos.

Now, with Shavuos approaching, the energy is shifting forward with two bold campaigns:

(1) Aseres Hadibros in Shul: Kids will be reaching out to encourage families to come hear the Aseres Hadibros in shul—fulfilling the Rebbe’s call to make sure every Jewish child is present at this monumental moment.

(2) Sefer Torah Letter Sign-Up: For the first time in this community, there will be a full push for children to encourage their friends to be signed up for a letter in the Rebbe’s children’s Sefer Torah. It’s a project of eternal connection—and one that has never been done here before on this scale.

Rabbi Teichtel summed it up: “This isn’t just a program—it’s a movement. When you see schools, shuls, parents, and kids all working together, you realize how alive and real the Rebbe’s vision still is. And how much further we can go.”
