Brunoy Inaugurates New Complex on Yeshiva Campus
A new and impressive complex on the grounds of the Brunoy yeshiva includes a spacious and beautiful shul for the local Anash community, along with four new, well-designed classrooms to serve the growing student body.
Great excitement filled the town of Brunoy, with the inauguration of a new and impressive complex—“Beit Gorsd”—on the grounds of the local yeshiva. At a distinguished ceremony attended by the yeshiva’s hanhala, the mayor, rabbanim, and community leaders, the new structure was formally dedicated, marking a significant expansion of Torah and community life in the region.
The newly built complex includes a spacious and beautifully appointed shul for the local Anash community, along with four new, well-designed classrooms to serve the growing student body. In addition, a large, modern mikvah has been constructed for the talmidim; it is set to be inaugurated at a separate ceremony in the near future.
Yeshivas Brinoy, one of the largest and most established Chabad yeshivos in Europe, draws students from across the globe. Over the years, a warm and vibrant Anash community has developed around the yeshiva in the picturesque town of Brinoy, located in the scenic suburbs of Paris. The new development represents another meaningful step in the continued growth of Torah and Chassidus in the area.
The building was made possible through a generous donation from members of the Gorsd family, pillars of the local community, who dedicated the complex in memory of their parents, Reb Aharon Natan and Aliza Gorsd, a”h. Known for their integrity, chessed, and devotion to Torah and Chassidus, their home was open wide to the needs of the community, and they raised a distinguished family while remaining deeply involved in public service with emunah and sincerity.
The ceremony was emceed by Rabbi Shmuel Brodovitch, director of Shiur Alef at the yeshiva. Yeshiva director Rabbi Yitzchak Nemenov opened the event by reading a letter of the Rebbe sent to the yeshiva on the occasion of a Chanukas Habayis during Parshas Terumah. Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Yechiel Kalmenson followed with divrei Torah, underscoring the significance of expanding a makom Torah and kedushah.
The mayor, representatives of the donor family, and other distinguished guests also addressed the gathering. The evening concluded with heartfelt remarks by yeshiva director Rabbi Mendel Gurevitch, who described the yeshiva’s development over the years and the clear hashgachah pratis that accompanied the project from its inception through completion.
The event was organized with dedication by the yeshiva’s secretary, Rabbi Shimon Lasri, together with Reb Shmaryahu and his son Reb Yonah Brook, whose tireless mesirus nefesh for the yeshiva’s needs earned the gratitude of all in attendance.
“one of the largest and most established Chabad yeshivos in Europe” ?!
It’s THE largest and most established yeshiva anywhere in the world out of the US and Israel by a mile! and it has been so for many decades.
