The top rabbinic authority of Chabad in Eretz Yisroel issued a call to say Tehillim, increase in learning Torah and mivtzoim and strengthen emunah in light of the horrific events.

Below is the text of their letter, translated into English:

In light of the severe situation in Eretz Yisroel, involving many casualties hy”d, many injured who need a refuah shleima, and captives r”l, we call to every person:

1) To increase in saying Tehillim kapitalech 20, 22, 69, 122, 150, and from kapital 81 to 90. Those who could should also say Tehillim as it is divided up for the days of the week. Increase in giving tzedaka together with the Tehillim, in accordance with the Rebbe’s instructions.

2) To strengthen the holy mivtzoim, the mivzoim that grant protection: Ahavas Yisroel, Chinuch, Torah, Tefillin, Mezuza, Tzedaka, Beis Molei Seforim, Neiros Shabbos Kodesh, Kashrus, Taharas Hamishpacha, and letters in the Sifrei Torah for children and adults.

3) To strengthen the study of all set shiurim, especially Chitas and Rambam, and to especially add in Inyonei Geulah U’Moshiach.

4) In accordance with the Rebbe’s instructions in the past that the power to strengthen the physical and spiritual security of Yidden is through the increase of Torah, Tefillah and Tzedaka of Yiddishe children, of whom the posuk says “Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings You have established strength…in order to put an end to enemy and avenger,” parents should gather their children at home for Torah, Tefillah and Tzedaka, and schools should organize gatherings as possible, through the phone of the like, according to the security regulations.

At this time, each of us should strengthen their emunah and bitachon that “Behold the Guardian of Israel will neither slumber nor sleep,” and especially as Eretz Yisroel is “a land…the eyes of Hashem Elokeicha are always upon it, from the beginning of the year to the end of the year.”

We send a plea to our Father in Heaven that he should have mercy on his people and his inheritance, with good and revealed good, and He should put an end to our suffering and immediately send us Moshiach.
