Bar and Bas Mitzvah Orphans Enjoy Family Fun Day
In an emotional and uplifting celebration organized by Colel Chabad, hundreds of orphaned boys and girls marked their reaching Bar and Bas Mitzvah with a day of joy and connection for their entire families.
With mixed feelings of joy and longing for their parents, hundreds of orphaned children from across the chareidi community in Eretz Yisroel celebrated their Bar and Bas Mitzvah at a remarkable event jointly organized by the National Insurance Institute and “Chesed Menachem Mendel,” the educational arm of Colel Chabad.
The participants, joined by grandparents, siblings, and extended family members, were treated to a full day of festivities at indoor amusement park Magic Kass. The event was tailored for the frum community, with a full schedule of wholesome, family-friendly entertainment, workshops, and learning opportunities.
Families arrived on chartered buses from all over the country. National Insurance staff greeted the guests warmly, offering each Bar and Bas Mitzvah child a personal gift, while parents learned about the institute’s rehabilitation services that provide ongoing support to bereaved families—helping them rebuild their lives with strength and hope.
The “Mitzvah-Land” park was transformed into a festive wonderland, complete with educational exhibits, creative workshops, and a lavish all-day buffet. The highlight of the program was a spirited Chassidic concert featuring Motti Goldman, Eliran Elbaz, and Shaya Brim, filling the venue with joyous song and dance.
During the event, Tzvi Cohen, Acting Director General of the National Insurance Institute, addressed the crowd, emphasizing the importance of hosting such programs specifically for the chareidi community.
“We are filled with gratitude for the privilege of partnering in such a meaningful and joyous initiative that brings comfort, strength, and happiness to these precious families,” Rabbi Sholom Duchman, Director of Kollel Chabad, shared. “From decades of experience, we’ve seen how programs like this uplift and strengthen families who’ve suffered deep loss, leaving them with powerful, positive memories that continue to inspire for years to come.”
