Now in its third year, the Chabad Girls High School of Baltimore celebrated a major milestone with the opening of its brand-new dormitory and beautiful new dining room, just in time to welcome more than 30 students for the start of the school year.

Joy and excitement filled the air this week as the Chabad Girls High School of Baltimore (CGHS) celebrated a series of major milestones. With the affixing of mezuzahs, the high school officially opened its brand-new dormitory and beautiful new dining room, just in time to welcome more than 30 students for the start of the school year.

The moment was a proud one for the Baltimore Jewish community, as the school continues to experience remarkable growth. Since its founding just three years ago, the Chabad Girls High School has blossomed into a true jewel — both locally and within the international Chabad Lubavitch community. Students now come not only from Baltimore, but also from out of town and around the world, adding to the richness and diversity of the school’s atmosphere.

Principal Mrs. Miri Levin expressed her delight at the progress. “This expansion is not just about new buildings — it’s about creating a real home for our girls,” she said. “The students’ enthusiasm and joy are palpable, and we are committed to nurturing each one with warmth, excellent chasidishe chinuch, and strong general studies, all under the guidance of our Rebbe.”

Students, too, could not contain their excitement. Many shared how special it feels to move into the new dormitory and enjoy the bright, welcoming dining hall. “It’s beautiful, and it really feels like a second home,” one student remarked with a smile.

Rabbi Shmuel Kaplan, head shliach of the State of Maryland, who has been guiding and supporting the school all along, praised the school’s accomplishments. “The Chabad Girls High School has become a cornerstone of our community,” he said. “Its growth and expansion are a source of pride to us all, and surely a source of nachas to the Rebbe.”

Parents echoed the sentiment. One proud parent shared, “This high school is a gem in the international Chabad Lubavitch community. We are so happy to be part of it, and to see our daughters flourish in such a special environment. The staff are warm and caring, and the girls are truly enjoying it.”

Rabbi Kushi Schusterman, the school’s executive director, shared his deep excitement over the milestone.

“Every step of this journey has been guided by the Rebbe’s vision for vibrant Jewish education, and we clearly see the Rebbe’s brochos along the way,” Rabbi Schusterman said. “The school’s growth, along with the opening of the new dormitory and dining hall, is a testament to the incredible dedication of our community, our devoted staff and principal, and a sign of the extraordinary future that lies ahead for our girls and for Chabad in Baltimore.”

As the girls settle into their new spaces, the excitement is matched only by the sense of mission that fills the school. With the support of its passionate leadership and faculty, the Chabad Girls High School of Baltimore continues to shine as a beacon of growth, chasidishe chinuch, academic excellence, and community spirit — a true source of pride for Baltimore and beyond.
