A letter issued by the Crown Heights Beis Din ahead of Rosh Hashana urged all locals and guests to take heed of the instructions of doctors and professionals regarding health and security throughout the month of Tishrei.
The letter, issued on 28 Elul, and signed by Harav Yosef Braun and Harav Avrohom Osdoba, comes as thousands of guest are arriving in Crown Heights to spend the Yomim Tovim, and crowds in 770 return to pre-pandemic levels.
“In answer to the many inquiries, regarding the precautionary measures required at a time like this, especially with the many guests who are arriving, and regarding vaccines as well,” they wrote.
“We have said innumerous times, both orally and it writing, that when it comes to such matters, one must listed to the instructions of the doctors and do exactly as they say,” they wrote.
The rabbonim also address the crowding in 770, which has become a concern to many chassidim following the tragic events of the previous year in Meron and Karlin-Stolin, where 48 Yidden lost their lives due to structure failures and crowding.
“With regards to the crowding in 770, everything must be done in accordance with public safety guidelines, following the rules set by experts, and in coordination with the gabboyim,” they write.
“May it be Hashem’s will that we merit the fulfilment of the verse ‘all the diseases.. I will not place upon you,’ with the coming of Moshiach speedily in out days,” they conclude.
