Avraham Fried Sings ‘Rosh Chodesh Kislev Nigun’

Released as part of the Tzama project just in time for Rosh Chodesh Kislev, a fresh recording of the classic Rosh Chodesh Kislev Nigun brings new energy to the march that celebrates the Rebbe’s return to 770.

Rosh Chodesh Kislev is approaching, bringing with it the light of Chanuka and the Chag Hageulah of Yud–Tes Kislev. During these days, the light of the Jewish neshama shines with special clarity. The joy of the soul lifts up the body as well, loosening it from its usual restraints until it simply breaks into dance.

Chabad is blessed with many joyous nigunim, and this one – often called the “Rosh Chodesh Kislev Nigun” – is among the happiest and most spirited.

This lively, march-style nigun was composed by the baal menagen, Rabbi Feitel Levin, in honor of the Rebbe’s recovery from the heart episode he experienced on Simchas Torah 5738 (1977). On Rosh Chodesh Kislev, the Rebbe recovered and came out to greet his chassidim, who thanked Hashem and danced with this unique and exuberant nigun.

The Tzama musical project is pleased to present a brand-new, high-energy recording of this nigun, performed by Avraham Fried, in honor of Rosh Chodesh Kislev.
