A new report reveals that the Iranian-supported Iraqi militant organization, Kata’ib Hezbollah, is suspected of planning to carry out terror attacks on Jewish centers in Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. The plots were reportedly aimed at Jewish sites during the gathering of thousands of Lubavitchers who were in Kazakhstan to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Reb Levik’s passing in Almaty.

According to Iran International, Kata’ib Hezbollah, which operates under Iranian influence in Iraq, attempted to carry out these terror activities as part of Tehran’s strategy to expand its influence beyond the Middle East. These actions are seen as efforts by Iran to project power in Central Asia.

Sources suggest that the group used a Tajik national, recruited during his studies at an Iranian university, to execute the attacks. This individual is believed to be responsible for attempting to set fire to Jewish centers in Kazakhstan.

In addition to expanding its reach into neighboring countries, Iran is also allegedly recruiting Israeli citizens to act on its behalf. Just two weeks ago, Israel’s Shin Bet security agency exposed a series of fake social media profiles used by Iranian intelligence operatives to recruit Israelis for activities that could jeopardize national security.

Boruch Hashem, no attacks were made, and those who visited Alma Ata returned unharmed.
