An official ceremony was held in Kyiv to unveil the new stamp honoring the Lubavitcher Rebbe, with diplomats and officials from the Ukrainian postal service in attendance. As reported on Anash.org, the stamp, issued by the Ukrainian Philatelic Service, is a significant recognition of the Rebbe and the widespread efforts of Chabad across Ukraine.
At the event, the stamp was officially introduced into the national postal system. The design prominently features 770, with its windows showcasing the seven seforim representing the seven Rebbeim.
U.S. Consul in Ukraine, Simon Huang, highlighted the importance of the Rebbe’s values during these difficult times, noting the Rebbe’s influence in the United States. He expressed his honor in being present to pay tribute to the Rebbe.
Natalia Mokhina, head of the Philatelic Production Department at the Ukrainian Postal Service, acknowledged the Rebbe’s Ukrainian heritage and stressed that the stamp honors Chabad’s work in Ukraine. She also emphasized that Rabbi Yonatan Markovitch‘s initiative to create this stamp reflects Ukraine’s spirit of tolerance and contributes to fostering stronger ties between nations.
Rabbi Markovitch, Chief Rabbi of Kyiv and the shliach in the city, thanked the postal service leadership for their commitment to recognizing Chabad’s global contributions and recognizing the Rebbe’s impact.
