At the regional Kinus hashluchim of Florida – coinciding with the Shloshim of Florida’s longtime Head Shliach, Rabbi Avraham Korf, a”h – his son, Rabbi Bentzion Korf, Executive Director of the Lubavitch Educational Center (LEC) of Miami, was named as the new Head Shliach of the state of Florida.

At the regional Kinus held for the hundreds of Shluchim of Florida and coinciding with the Shloshim of Florida’s longtime Head Shliach, Rabbi Avraham Korf, a”h – his son, Rabbi Bentzion Korf, Executive Director of the Lubavitch Educational Center (LEC) of Miami, was named by Rabbi Yossi Groner, on behalf of the board of Merkos L’Inyonei Chinuch, as his father’s successor and the new Head Shliach of the state of Florida.

The announcement was met with a tremendous round of applause.

The Kinus, held in Sunny Isles, Florida, began with Shacharis, Chavrusa learning, a shiur on the Rebbe’s Torah, and registration. A panel titled “Questions Posed by Younger Shluchim” featured a fascinating discussion with shluchim Rabbi Alex Kaller, Rabbi Yosef Konikov, and Rabbi Mendel Rosenfeld. Rabbi Chaim Drizin addressed the topic of “Balancing Our Home and Our Shlichus in a Meaningful Way.”

In the afternoon, attendees participated in a Halacha Session with Rabbi Dov Schochet, and the younger shluchim joined a series of 5 Shluchim – 5 Ted Talks. Additional addresses included a session on Shalom Bayis delivered by Rabbi Pinny Herman, and “Keeping the Fun in Fundraising,” presented by Rabbi Yosef Konikov. Rabbi Simon Jacobson spoke on the topic of “How to Bring Chassidus to Life.”

At the general session, emceed by Rabbi Yaakov Fellig and addressed by Rabbi Leibel Schapiro and Rabbi Yossi Raichik, Rabbi Yossi Groner announced – on behalf of Merkos L’Inyonei Chinuch – that Rabbi Bentzion Korf has been appointed as the official Head Shliach to the state of Florida.

The Kinus is set to conclude with a group photo, a banquet, and a Shloshim program commemorating longtime Head Shliach Rabbi Avraham Korf, a”h, who passed away last month. The evening will be followed by a farbrengen with Rabbi Simon Jacobson.
