Argentina’s President Visits the Ohel After Carlson Invokes Him in Conspiracy

Argentina’s President Javier Milei visited the Ohel with senior officials and shluchim, days after antisemitic commentator Tucker Carlson cited Milei’s belief in the future Beis Hamikdash as “evidence” for his claim that the war with Iran is part of a Chabad plan to destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosque and rebuild the Beis Hamikdash.

Argentina’s President Javier Milei, known as one of the most pro-Israel leaders today and for his close connection to Chabad-Lubavitch and deep admiration for the Rebbe, visited the Ohel today, accompanied by a full security entourage and senior officials.

He was joined by Rabbi Mendy Kotlarsky of Merkos 302 and Rabbi Simon Jacobson. Following the visit to the Ohel, where the president davened, the group entered one of the Lubavitch houses across the street, where they sat together for a conversation.

Milei’s visit to the Ohel, one of many in recent months, comes just days after antisemitic media personality Tucker Carlson, one of the most influential commentators reaching hundreds of millions online, cited Milei’s belief in the future rebuilding of the Beis Hamikdash as supposed “evidence” for his claim that the war with Iran is part of a Chabad plan to destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosque and rebuild the Beis Hamikdosh.

In the episode, which sparked a storm online, Carlson aired a clip of Milei speaking at the Kosel. In the footage, Milei expressed hope that the prophecy of the rebuilding of the Beis Hamikdash will ultimately be fulfilled, calling it a “blessing” to stand at the site while voicing strong support for Israel.

Carlson presented the clip as part of his broader claim that the current conflict is rooted in a religious agenda tied to the removal of the Dome of the Rock and the rebuilding of the Beis Hamikdosh.

Milei has continued to demonstrate a strong connection to the Rebbe and frequently visits the Ohel. During his presidential campaign, he visited the site shortly before securing a landslide victory. In one of his first interviews after winning the election, when asked where he planned to travel first abroad, Milei surprised the interviewer by answering, “To the United States, to the Ohel, and from there to Israel.”

The Argentine leader has also spoken publicly about the Rebbe on television and in interviews, and has even quoted and discussed the Rebbe’s sichos in his talks.

In one interview with Argentine television, Milei described in detail how the Rebbe’s farbrengens on Shabbos were later transcribed and recalled meeting one of the Rebbe’s chozrim.

The economist and former television and radio commentator also maintains close connections with Argentina’s head shliach, Rabbi Tzvi Grunblatt, and other shluchim.
