Reb Shie, as he is affectionately known, has been brought down to London a number of times in the past two years to lead farbrengens, with a number of people who consider him as their personal mashpia. In his unique style, Reb Shie spoke about the importance of bringing Chassidus into our personal life through focusing on personal avoda in general, and in davening in particular.
As a child, Reb Shie related, his father brought him to the Rebbe in the year 5749 (1989). Being a child, Reb Shie was brought to stand right next to the Rebbe, and the Rebbe was looking at him during Chazoras Hashatz, making sure that he pronounced properly each time the words boruch hu uvoruch shmoi and amen. This experience ingrained in him the importance of davening, and of halacha in general.
The motive of the farbrengen was to encourage and strengthen the ongoing learning of Chassidus in an organised and focused manner.
The farbrengen was arranged by Rabbi Avremel Raskin of Merkaz Letoras Hachassidus, together with Reb Elyokim Shif, who manages running the Kollel Chassidus.
This project is made in conjunction with Kollel Lubavitch, which is directed by Rabbi Mendel Raskin.
