Amud Yomi Chabad Beginning Masechta Chagigah
On Tuesday, Lubavitch learners worldwide will begin Masechta Chagigah together, continuing the Chabad practice of learning one amud of Gemara each day.
Sometimes real progress comes quietly: one amud a day, every day. This Tuesday, כ״א אדר (March 10), the Amud Yomi Chabad cycle begins Masechta Chagigah.
One Amud a Day
Amud Yomi Chabad was established to publicize and make accessible the minhag Chabad—recorded in Sefer HaMinhagim p.21 —that Chassidim learn an amud of Gemara daily. The strength of the program is not in speed, but in consistency. One amud a day is manageable, steady, and realistic, even for someone with a full schedule.
The cycle runs Sunday through Thursday, leaving Friday and Shabbos for chazarah or catching up if needed. Over time, the small daily commitment adds up in a very real way.
Starting Masechta Chagigah
As the cycle continues through Seder Moed, the next stop is Masechta Chagigah. The masechta discusses the halachos of the Shalosh Regalim and the mitzvah of appearing in the Beis HaMikdash.
By Hashgacha pratis, the cycle begins Chagigah in the weeks leading up to Pesach—an especially fitting time to learn about being oleh regel and preparing for Yom Tov with deeper understanding.
Like every masechta, it brings its own sugyos and challenges—but approached one amud at a time, it becomes approachable and clear.
A Good Time to Join
The beginning of a new masechta is the easiest time to start. There’s no need to have learned what came before. Just begin with everyone else this Tuesday and move forward step by step.
To make the learning richer and more practical, Amud Yomi Chabad is now partnering with Rambam Press, which provides the halachos from the Rambam connected to each daily amud. In addition, through the organisation Lehisvada, participants can receive clear and geshmake iyunim on the daily amudim delivered straight to their email.
Alongside this, Amud Yomi Chabad continues to offer:
• Daily shiurim in English and Hebrew
• A clear learning schedule
• A growing community of consistent learners
If you’ve been thinking about starting, this is a great opportunity.
