The National Security Council (NSC) issued a warning to Israelis abroad, urging them to exercise extra caution, including when visiting local Chabad houses, “due to a concrete threat that terrorist elements are currently seeking to harm.”

In a detailed statement, the NSC wrote that since the start of Operation ‘Roaring Lion,’ there has been “increased motivation and expansion in hostile terrorist activity and threats from Iranian security bodies against Israeli and Jewish targets worldwide.”

The statement added that active attack attempts by Iranians are also taking place in regional countries and near Iran’s borders, including the UAE, Bahrain, and Jordan. “There is a growing concern for attacks on Israeli targets, particularly in these areas,” it said.

The NSC also issued guidance for Israelis returning via Egypt and Jordan: “It is recommended to arrive only via flights landing in Taba, Aqaba, and Amman, and not at other airports.”

It further advised not to remain in Egypt or Jordan, to proceed directly from the airport to the nearest border crossings to Israel, to conceal Jewish or Israeli symbols on arrival, and to avoid posting updates or details on social media.

The statement noted that in recent days, “several attempts to carry out hostile terrorist activity against Israelis have been foiled and disrupted.”

The NSC listed a set of precautions that Israelis and Jews worldwide should follow, including “avoiding areas and sites identified as Jewish or Israeli (Chabad houses, synagogues, etc.).”

This warning comes just hours after antisemitic media personality Tucker Carlson, one of the most influential commentators reaching hundreds of millions online, claimed on social media that the war with Iran is allegedly a Chabad plan to destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosque and rebuild the Bais Hamikdash.

The remarks drew sharp rebukes from many, who warned that rhetoric tying Jews to conspiracies about ‘holy’ sites could fuel real-world violence, prompting calls for Chabad to enhance security.

Other NSC precautions include avoiding transit flights through the UAE until further notice, concealing Jewish and Israeli symbols in public spaces, taking heightened precautions at all destinations worldwide, being especially alert to unusual activity in areas associated with Israel and Judaism including suspicious objects or unknown individuals, reporting immediately to local security forces in case of a threat or attack, avoiding areas hostile to Israelis and Jews such as neighborhoods, districts, or markets in countries or regions with anti-Israel sentiment, and following the NSC’s detailed recommendations for each country as published on its website.
