Exactly one week before the yahrzeit of Reb Levi Yitzchok Schneerson on Chof Av, an extensive renovation to upgrade his holy tziyun, at the cost of 14 million tenges, was completed.
With exactly one week remaining before the yahrzeit of Reb Levi Yitzchok Schneerson, father of the Rebbe, the shluchim in Kazakhstan are preparing to welcome thousands of visitors who will be traveling to Almaty to honor the Rebbe and his father.
In addition to the many preparations, an extensive renovation took place at the holy tziyon of Reb Levi Yitzchok. A new air conditioning and heating system was installed, stones in the wall of the ‘ohel’ that had been damaged by extreme weather changes were repaired, the roof and door were replaced, and other necessary repairs were made as well.
Upgrades were also made to the surrounding area to allow kohanim to visit on the day of the hilula, along with cleaning the entire area and raising the fences surrounding nearby graves.
The full project amounted to over 14 million tenges, the local currency of Kazakhstan, which is equivalent to approximately 31,500 US dollars.
“The renovations are yet another step to accord the proper respect to the gaon and mekubal Harav Levi Yitzchok zt”l, and will allow us to welcome even more visitors this year for the hilula and throughout the year,” the local shluchim said.
