The Ahavas Chesed medical assistance organization, which provides medical assistance to the Crown Heights community, moved from their Troy Avenue location to a new headquarters at 848 Eastern Parkway, just minutes from 770 Eastern Parkway.
Established and headed by Rabbi Avrohom Lieder until his passing, Ahavas Chessed has helped thousands of Crown Heights residents and guests with medical emergencies and referrals. Since his passing, the organization has been headed by his son Rabbi Dovid Lieder.
On Tuesday, Rabbi Dovid Lieder was joined by Rabbi Moshe Klein, Rabbi Eli Cohen and Rabbi Velvel Farkash for the chanukas habayis of the new center, a beautiful, spacious new office.
“Ahavas Chesed is here for the entire community,” Rabbi Dovid Lieder said. “For the past 15 years we have been the premier crisis medical assistance organization helping those in need with medical referrals, medical equipment and supplies, hospital bedside visits, food coupons for hot meals, emergency financial assistance, medical transportation to hospitals and doctors’ visits, blood drives and convalescent plasma drives, home healthcare, and patient support.”
The Ahavas Chesed emergency hotline is always available 24/7 at (718) 221-2424. If you wish to volunteer and help Ahavas Chesed in their work, please sign up on their website at www.ChesedCenter.org.
