Just one month after visiting the Rebbe’s Ohel in New York, Argentine President Javier Milei shocked the world when his party secured a sweeping victory in Argentina’s mid-term elections, taking about 40.8% of the national vote, defying expectations and rewriting the political map. Analysts say the result was far beyond what even his own team predicted.

Milei’s recent visit to the Ohel is one of many in recent months, as the Argentine president continues to show a deep connection to the Rebbe and a growing commitment to the Rebbe’s causes.

Milei admitted that his campaign came into the race with low confidence, saying his team was “very unsure” they could win given recent polling drops and serious economic headwinds. He called the win a “tipping point” in the country’s history.

“Now we are focused on carrying out the reforms that Argentina needs to consolidate growth and the definitive takeoff of the country – to make Argentina great again.”

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump praised the result as a “big victory” and acknowledged that Milei “had a lot of help from us… I gave him an endorsement, a very strong endorsement.”

The political landscape in Buenos Aires and across Argentina has shifted dramatically. In this election, half of the 257 seats in the lower house and 24 of the 72 Senate seats were up for grabs. Milei’s party, La Libertad Avanza, won 64 seats in the Chamber of Deputies, a sharp rise from just 37 in the previous election.

Until now, Milei had struggled to advance his sweeping reforms due to limited legislative support. With this decisive victory, he now holds the leverage to advance his economic agenda – focused on spending cuts, deregulation, and pro-market policies – giving him far greater political strength despite continuing challenges at home.
