A Remarkable First Year for Yeshivas Lubavitch Northwest Florida

Well into its inaugural year with tremendous success, Yeshivas Lubavitch Northwest Florida established itself as a vibrant makom Torah serving the entire Florida Panhandle region. Surrounded by nature, the Yeshiva provides an idyllic environment where bochurim can immerse themselves in Hashem’s world while overcoming the distractions of city life.

Yeshivas Lubavitch Northwest Florida is well into its inaugural year with tremendous success, establishing itself as a vibrant makom Torah serving the entire Florida Panhandle region. Surrounded by nature, the Yeshiva provides an idyllic environment where bochurim can immerse themselves in the Aibishter’s world while overcoming the distractions of city life.

Founded under the leadership of Rabbi Yoseph Wernick, the Yeshiva was created to provide a serious environment for bochurim to grow in learning, chassidishkeit, and personal development while also strengthening Yiddishkeit throughout the region.

Yeshivas Lubavitch Northwest Florida is guided by a distinguished Advisory Board, including Rabbi Eily Smith of Mesivta Miami, Rabbi Schneur Oirechman, Head Shliach of the Panhandle, Rabbi Yehoshua Steinberg of the Shluchim Online School, and Rabbi Boruch Susman, Shliach in Kentucky and a former student of Rabbi Wernick who now sends his own son to learn in the Yeshiva.

Throughout the year, the bochurim have been deeply involved not only in their learning but also in supporting Jewish life across the Panhandle. Local Shluchim and community members frequently join for events, farbrengens, and Yom Tov programs, creating a strong connection between the talmidim and the broader Jewish community.

The Yeshiva also welcomed many visiting Shluchim and rabbonim, including Rabbi Nachman Wilhelm, Dean of Online Smicha, Rabbi Moshe Feller, Head Shliach of Minnesota, and Rabbi Schneur Oirechman, who joined for guest farbrengens throughout the year. Their presence brought inspiration, guidance, and chayus to the bochurim and the local Jewish community.

Among the many highlights of the first year so far was the first-ever official Kaparos event held in the region, where dozens of community members and shluchim gathered together with the bochurim. The bochurim played a central role in hosting the event, distributing chickens, assisting participants, and staying late into the night to help process the chickens.

Chanukah also marked a milestone for the region, with Yeshivas Lubavitch Northwest Florida helping organize the first-ever public menorah lighting in the area. The event reached far beyond those in attendance, with more than 8,000 people viewing the menorah lighting online. The bochurim also participated in a special Chanukah celebration at the Governor’s Mansion, further strengthening the connection between the Jewish community and the wider public.

Throughout the year, the bochurim benefit from a structured seder hayeshiva with strong emphasis on Gemara, Chassidus, and personal growth. The warm and focused environment allows each talmid to develop both in learning and in his avodas Hashem, while also taking part in strengthening Yiddishkeit across the Panhandle region.

In its first year, Yeshivas Lubavitch Northwest Florida has already made a meaningful impact on the bochurim who learn there, their families, local communities, and the network of shluchim throughout the Panhandle.

As the Yeshiva continues through its inaugural year, a limited number of spaces are available for serious bochurim who are looking for a strong learning environment combined with the opportunity to grow personally while helping strengthen Yiddishkeit in a unique and growing region.

Applications are now open for 8th Grade Mechina, Shiur Aleph, and Shiur Beis. Bochurim who are motivated to learn, grow, and be part of a dynamic makom Torah are encouraged to apply.  www.YeshivasLubavitchNWFL.com
