The main shul at 770 Eastern Parkway – including the women’s shul – will reopen to crowds of hundreds tomorrow Rosh Chodesh Tammuz, June 22nd.
In keeping with government rules, the crowd at 770 will still be limited to approximately 250 people at all times. Congregants will be required to wear masks and maintain proper social distancing at all times.
The Shul will open daily at 6:00 AM and will close at 10:00 PM each evening.
Since Rosh Chodesh Sivan, the Shul had a single daily minyan at the regular davening times, with attendance limited to ten people selected by a lottery. The new regulations allow for twenty-five times the amount that was allowed during Phase I.
Phase Two will allow a wider range of businesses to reopen, including: offices, outdoor dining, and storefront retailers and businesses in the professional-services, finance and insurance, administrative support, and real-estate and rental-leasing industries. Salons and barbershops will be also able to reopen with limited capacity, as will car dealerships. For retail, malls will remain closed. Places of worship are allowed to open at 25% capacity.
