3 Events to Honor Rabbi Zalman Wilschanski’s First Yahrzeit

Three events will be held this week honoring the late Morristown Rosh Yeshiva and Rov, Rabbi Zalman Wilschanski a”h, for his first yahrtzeit: A large community event in Morristown on Sunday, a Siyum Sefer Torah in Crown Heights on Monday, and a Hachnosas Sefer Torah in Raleigh, North Carolina on Tuesday.

Three events will be held this coming week to honor the memory of Rabbi Shneur Zalman Wilschanski a”h on the occasion of his first yahrtzeit.

Rabbi Wilschanski, born in Paris, served as the distinguished Rosh Yeshiva of Tomchei Temimim in Morristown for 47 years and the Rov of Congregation Levi Yitzchak. He passed away on 17 Adar 5784 at the age of 74. His brother, Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Wilschanski a”h, Rosh Yeshiva of Tzfas, passed away last Shabbos.

On Sunday evening, Congregation Levi Yitzchak in Morristown, NJ, and the Rabbinical College of America invite friends, students, alumni, and the Morristown community to the Berger Auditorium to mark Rabbi Wilschanski’s first yahrtzeit.  A live stream will be available at RabbiWilschanskiTorah.com

On Monday, the Wilschanski family invites everyone to join in a Siyum Sefer Torah in Crown Heights, as they complete a Sefer Torah written in his memory. The Siyum will run from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM at Bais Moshe, 398 Crown St., where the final letters of the Torah will be written. 

On Tuesday, the Hachnosas Sefer Torah will take place at in Raleigh, North Carolina. The event and hakafos will begin at 5:00 PM at Chabad of Raleigh.
