Tens of thousands of people took part in Birchas Kohanim at the Kosel on Wednesday, second day of Chol Hamoed Sukkos.
The event is always held on the morning of the second day of chol hamoed in Eretz Yisrael to permit those visiting from abroad to take part.
As is the case on Chol Hamoed Sukkos and Pesach, there were two Birchas Kohanim events, the shachris one at 9:30AM and the musaf Birchas Kohanim at 10:15AM.
According to Kosel Heritage Foundation officials, 40,000 persons participated in the event Wednesday morning.
Following the davening, the Chief Rabbis of Eretz Yisrael, Rabbi Yitzchak Yosef and Rabbi Dovid Lau greeted the mispallalim.
U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mr. David M. Friedman has also made it a tradition to attend Birchas Kohanim every yomtov.
